Our Ski Story
Kitzsport – there for the people of Kitzbühel for almost 100 years
Anno 1921: Hansjörg Schlechter develops the first "Kitzbühel Ski".
His innovative technology made the ski with the chamois an international hit, even breaking speed world records: The high-speed ski manufactured for ski pioneer Leo Gasperl in 1934 made 136 km/h possible!

However, industrialization in the early 1970s made in-house ski production unprofitable, and the Schlechter family switched to the sale, rental and service of sporting goods – Kitzsport was born. Today, around 50 years later, INTERSPORT Kitzsport is probably the best-known sports shop in Kitzbühel. And the legendary Kitzbühel ski is once again making its carving turns on the Horn, on the Streif and on the Ganslernhang!
